Programme Coordinator: Intermediate Phase
What I do
I am responsible for the educator and learner development in Mathematics and Science in the Intermediate Phase. I conduct the teacher training workshops and school support visits to the educators and learners in the classrooms. I develop educators with the skills and knowledge on learning area content, National Curriculum Statement (NCS), planning and conducting learner centred lessons to the learners.
I joined the Palabora Foundation in 2002 as a school support visit coordinator. My role was to plan for the school support visits and to conduct the classroom observation/support.
What I did before
I worked for two years as an educator at one of the local high schools, 8 months as a centre manager of Rivhoningo Project, six months at Mahlahle Project and five months at Fanang Diatla Project in Polokwane. My roles were to conduct teacher training workshops and school support visits.
A bit about me
I was born in 1967 and grew up at Kgapane near Tzaneen. I matriculated in 1988 at Kgapane High School. I went on to Modjadji College of Education where I completed my Secondary Teachers’ Diploma. I then went on to further my studies with the University of South Africa (UNISA) where I did a certificate in Outcomes Based Education in Adult Basic Education and Training.
I am married to Magdeline and we are blessed with three children, 1 boy (13) and 2 girls (4) and (17) respectively. We are one big family. I enjoy reading and watching TV, especially soccer and movies.
