Pheladi Mogofe
Trainer: Food Preparation & Cooking
What I do
I am responsible for training; I train Food Preparation & Cooking at the Foundation. Our course is for six months and we divide it into two sessions, morning and afternoon, four hours per group per day. Our main aim is to help young and unemployed people to become self sustainable and also to help our local communities to become self reliant. After the completion of each course we have formal graduation were everybody receives certificates. Our qualification is called Assistant Chef.
I have been at the Foundation since July 2004.
What I did before
After completing my studies I opened my own catering company at The Oaks, then I was employed at Zuleika Country Lodge in Hoedspruit. I worked there as Head Chef for six months. After that there was a post at The Palabora Foundation and I applied and I was hired as Food Preparation & Cooking Training Officer.
A bit about me
I am 26 years old and I come from The Oaks. I started school at Butswana primary school in 1986 and attended Dawana High School in 2000. I attended my tertiary education at Pretoria College, and I obtained my NQF Level 04 in Hospitality Studies.
I am presently staying at Namakgale. I’m from a family of seven, I’m married and have a daughter. I like sharing ideas with people, laughing, going out and socializing with people.
I couldn't live without...
... peace.
