What I do
My responsibilities include training students on bricklaying, tiling and plastering; managing the workshop; and assisting with community projects related to infrastructural development.
I've been working for the Foundation for 13 years now.
What I did before
I completed my N1 at Bethelsdorp Technical College in 1970 while I was working for Joritzma Company in Port Elizabeth. I completed my apprenticeship with Joritzma Company and worked for them up to 1970.
I worked for Rapp & Meister in Johannesburg as a bricklayer and got promoted to a foreman up to 1979. I also worked as a subcontractor for Comiat Construction before becoming a foreman up to 1993.
A bit about me
I have been married for 33 years now. I have 6 children and 4 grandchildren. My hobbies are reading and going to church. I am also a priest in the Old Apostolic Church in Phalaborwa.
